STRMAP ANALYSIS
The STRMAP Analysis provides a report on the Short Tandem Repeat (STR) units of DNA for a person. This analysis includes the 13 markers that the FBI uses. We recommend parents purchase this analysis for their children and family members. The results can be saved to your Amber Stick™. DNA Storage Card
The process to store your DNA is simple and painless. We will send you a DNA storage kit. You take a sample of your DNA by gently rubbing the swabs on the inside of your cheek lining. You then apply the swab to the FTA Elute storage card. You can either store your FTA Elute card at home or mail it back to DNAPrint® for us to store it for you (if you purchased that service). If we store your cards, they will be split up and stored separately at 2 different locations and will be kept in a safe, dry, controlled environment. You authorize the individuals who may access the DNA swab samples. The DNA samples are yours; we are just renting you professional storage space. By storing the samples at DNAPrint®, you will have the peace of mind that you can easily and quickly retrieve your samples. Forensic Services
Testing DNA to create a physical description from crime scene DNA and providing a photo database array of representatives closely matching the analyzed DNA, allows detectives a means of describing ‘persons of interest’. This presumptive test method is a new market based on evolving DNAPrint® genomics technologies. Common hereditary traits such as skin pigmentation, eye color, hair color, and facial geometry may be predicted through analysis of DNA sequences. This can be done indirectly, through an extensive knowledge of ancestry admixture or for certain genetic traits, directly through knowledge of the underlying genes. At DNAPrint® we use both methods.
