STRMAP ANALYSIS

The STRMAP report provides you with information that establishes a genetic profile for the individual tested.  This report can be used when a child or individual is missing and law enforcement needs a reference STR report. This is a critical analysis that each parent should have performed for each of their children.

DNAPrint® Genomics, Inc. is a sponsor of Code Amber. We are proud to be associated with Code Amber and firmly support their goals to make a safer place for children. Code Amber is sponsoring the Amber Stick™ where information about family members can be stored including personal data, fingerprint and our STRMAP report. By storing the STRMAP report electronically on the Amber Stick™, this is providing valuable information all stored electronically to be easily retrieved when needed.

This STRMAP analysis is processed on ABI 3700 and 3100 equipment, state of the art analyzers that measure the Short Tandem Repeat (STR) units of DNA.   This service offers the testing of the sex marker plus 15 STR locations of your DNA.  These locations have been standardized over the past decade to serve as “DNA barcodes” for human identification and first generation relationships. Each individual has their information at these STR locations. The FBI uses 13 of these loci in its CODIS panel which is the standard used currently by most law enforcement agencies.

Reasons to order this analysis:

We recommend all parents to purchase this DNA analysis for their children in order to establish a genetic profile for their child. We know that the Centers for Missing and Exploited Children and the FBI are overloaded with cases, so establishing a sample at the least, can help speed up the process which currently could take years. The backlog of cases is distressing to everyone, more so to the parents whose children have gone missing, but it is a reality that we all have to live with until the system is overhauled, improved and changed. At a minimum, store your child’s DNA.
